Central Finger Lakes Friends Meeting

of the Religious Society of Friends (Quakers)

Geneva, New York

February 8, 2015

We send loving greetings from Central Finger Lakes (CFL) Friends Meeting in New York Yearly Meeting. We commend to your care our Friend Heather M. Cook. She carries a concern for preventing and healing from all types of violence, and particularly sexual violence, by helping individuals, relationships, and communities strengthen their capacity for awareness, compassion, and commitment to engage with challenging work. This ministry emerges from her own experiences with violence, and a yearning for a path of healing .

We unite with Heather in faith that with divine assistance we might be healed, and so join others in healing the world. Peace begins not just at home, but within . We have appointed an anchor committee which continues to meet with Heather for ongoing discernment and support.

With support of CFL Friends , Heather is certified in Strategies for Trauma Awareness and Resilience through Eastern Mennonite University. She brings experience with the Yearly Meeting 's Committee on Conflict Transformation, life coaching, and group facilitation .

We take this ministry under our care, and commend Heather to your loving care as she travels among Friends in our Regional and Yearly Meeting . We hold Heather in our hearts and prayers as she follows this leading and we trust that your time together will bring hope and healing .

In loving friendship,

Astuti Bijlefeld , Clerk
