Our member Sara Niccoli recognizes the Pledge of Allegiance to the flag of the United States as a loyalty oath that is inconsistent with her faith as a Friend (Quaker). New York Yearly Meeting supports Sara’s exercise of conscience and religion in standing respectfully silent during ceremonial recitations of the Pledge.
